Committed to Client-Directed Care
We stay true to the concept of “nothing about us without us” by making each client the most important voice in their treatment planning process. Every behavior support plan is client-directed, regardless of communication ability or guardianship status.
Our promise is neuro-affirming, culturally sensitive, gender-affirming care. To make it a priority, we:
- Frequently check in with clients for their feelings and feedback.
- Use preferred pronouns and names.
- Continuously educate ourselves through professional development focused on neurodivergence, LGBTQ+ allyship, and cultural sensitivity.
Coercion isn’t care, and we set out to minimize it by:
- Using the least restrictive interventions possible.
- Reviewing all behavior support and treatment plans bi-annually (or more frequently as needed).
- Reviewing any potentially harmful interventions with the client and human rights committee.
We welcome and encourage collaboration with outside mental health providers, OTs, SLPs,and other services providers when requested.
